The Calm Before the Puppies

Things at Doodle Patch Farm have been a little quieter lately—and truthfully, we’ve been enjoying every minute of it.

There have been no early-morning dashes to feed hungry, squealing puppies. No late-night visits to the whelping room. No tiny paws pattering across the floor or puppy toys scattered throughout the house.

Instead, we’ve been soaking in the peaceful side of farm life. Evenings have been spent on the porch listening to crickets sing, watching fireflies dance across warm summer skies, and enjoying a slower pace before the excitement begins again.

As much as we adore raising puppies, this season of quiet has been a gift. It gives us time to focus on our dogs, prepare for our upcoming litters, and make sure everything is ready for the busy months ahead. We will continue enjoying this little pause through August while our expectant moms are pampered and cared for.

But don’t get too comfortable.

The calm is temporary.

Before long, our days will once again be filled with wagging tails, puppy cuddles, first barks, and all the joy that comes with welcoming new life into the world.

And we couldn’t be more excited.

Wren and Reggie have returned from their honeymoon, and we’re thrilled to announce that they’re expecting a beautiful litter of F1b Mini Goldendoodles.

This exciting pairing combines two wonderful personalities with stunning looks.

Reggie is making quite an impression as one of our newest studs. His outgoing, affectionate personality and striking Parti coat with tan points make him impossible not to love. We expect some puppies to inherit his eye-catching Parti pattern, while others may be shades of rich red, creamy white, or soft cream.

Wren continues to be everything we love in a Goldendoodle—intelligent, affectionate, eager to please, and a friend to everyone she meets. Her sweet nature paired with Reggie’s playful spirit should produce puppies with exceptional temperaments and plenty of personality.

These puppies are expected to mature to approximately 25–30 pounds, making them the perfect size for many families. They should be full of intelligence, affection, and that signature Goldendoodle charm that makes the breed so popular.

May and Takoda have given us another reason to be excited this summer.

May, our sweet, affectionate, and delightfully goofy Bernese Mountain Dog, has been paired with the handsome Takoda, a stunning Harlequin Merle Standard Poodle whose personality is every bit as impressive as his looks.

Together, they are expected to produce beautiful Standard Bernedoodles with a wonderful combination of intelligence, playfulness, and loving companionship.

We’re anticipating a colorful litter featuring a variety of gorgeous coat patterns, playful personalities, and plenty of puppy kisses. If previous litters are any indication, these puppies will turn heads wherever they go.
