She suspected there was a puppy in her future – Happy Gotcha Day
November 23, 2025
It was pure joy watching a beautiful surprise unfold this morning as a mom, her two daughters, and one daughter’s best friend arrived from Indiana. The moment they stepped into our home, the excitement began to build. When Mom announced, “This is your puppy,” the best friend burst out, “I am sooooo happy for you!”

The smiles were absolutely contagious.

Patty spent time walking the family through all the important details—how to handle feeding time, what to expect from the daily routine, and even showing off Rye’s adorable party tricks. Thanks to an extra two weeks of training, Rye can already shake hands, sit, lie down, and roll over, and waits politely for his food. He’s also comfortable sleeping in a crate, and sleeps 7-8 hours without a peep. He’s a good boy!
Next, the family looked through the information folder, talked about upcoming booster shots, and confirmed their vet appointment—already scheduled and ready to go. Patty demonstrated how to register the microchip and reviewed both the feeding and potty schedules. Rye will also go home with a cozy puppy blanket (and other goodies) that carries the scent of his littermates and the stuffed heartbeat toy he’s been snuggling with.

And then… it was Gotcha Time.
A happy family, a new adventure, and one very loved puppy heading home. It was a perfect day. As they were leaving, Mom asked, “Is this sad for you to see them go?” Patty replied, “Yes and no. I will miss Rye! He was easy to work with, affectionate and bonds quickly. But seeing the love that you will all share is beautiful!” Rye will have a wonderful life with this family. And that makes the goodbyes sweeter!
